How to save a ChatGPT conversation as a PDF

You found a great ChatGPT answer and want to keep it. Printing the page gives you the sidebar, buttons, and broken page breaks; copy-paste loses the code formatting. Here's the clean way.

The quickest method: convert the share link

  1. In ChatGPT, open the chat and click Share, then copy the link.
  2. Paste it into chatgpt2pdf.com and choose PDF.
  3. Download — you get a tidy document with labeled turns, syntax-highlighted code, and real tables.

Because the tool reads the actual conversation rather than screenshotting the page, the PDF text stays selectable and searchable, and long chats paginate properly.

Prefer Word or Markdown?

The same share link also exports to Word (DOCX) if you want to edit it, or Markdown for a notes app or GitHub. Plain text and JSON are there too.

What about other assistants?

If you also use other tools, the same approach works for Claude, Grok, Perplexity, and Gemini.

It's free, needs no signup, and nothing you convert is stored.
